As the author of five policies and procedures books, I have been successfully writing and implementing policies and procedures programs for 36+ years, since 1975 in large and small companies. With an MBA from UCLA and certifications as a project manager, records manager, forms manager, and quality engineer, I take pride in the fact that I make things happen.

I have been a successful manager with anywhere from 1 to 20 direct reports and/or up to 125 dotted-line reports. I make every effort to help my employees improve and develop their careers. I always remember what one of my first managers said, "You are only as good as your people."

My "go-getter" and "get results" attitude has helped me set up records management programs, including electronic records management and digital processing departments, and policies and procedures programs for industries such as manufacturing, banking, retail, research and development, insurance, financial services, engineering, information technology, disaster recovery services, telecommunications, aerospace, and gas and electric.


My background and experience is interesting.
In each of my jobs since 1980, I have had multiple roles in a manager's position: Each position always includes records management, policies and procedures, form management, and business continuity planning. In some jobs, I have also had jobs like communications manager, newsletter editor, TQM participant, TQM Awards chair, ECM chair, and micrographics supervisor or manager.

I am a seasoned professional/manager in records management, digital imaging, selection of ECM software solutions, policies and procedures development and writing, and the selection of emerging technologies for most of the companies for which I have worked.

I have also chaired ISO Quality Standards, Six Sigma, Value Engineering, Malcolm Baldrige Award, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), SharePoint 2007/2010, and Emerging Technologies committees.

Through education and experience, I have learned to bring the best practices through lessons learned and best advice for the management of records management and policies and procedures programs.

I have written 9000+ policies and procedures and have designed 3000+ forms, physical and electronic. I draw my experience from setting up policies and procedures programs from public, private, and not-for-profit organizations. Some of the major companies for which I have worked include: Eastman Kodak, Litton Industries, Nationwide Insurance, State of Ohio Policy Department, and Boeing. I work hard to bring you the best in policy and procedure writing methods. I have led numerous major projects, all of which have contributed to my understanding how business processes are integrated with policies and procedures. I have used this valuable experience to write these policies and procedures books for you.

My books are written for any level of writing experience. While my books are devoted to policy and procedure basics that everyone needs to know, I have tried to satisfy the interests of experienced writers as well. Any one can benefit from my books. My books are easy to read and to apply. I don't use big words and I work at writing books that are easy to read in a short period of time. My goal is to get you to start planning and writing quickly and with little hesitation.

I offer excellent customer service. I give free advice anytime. I usually respond in 24 hours or less. I love talking with policy and procedure writers, technical writers, managers, and just about anyone about the subject of policies and procedures.

I am currently writing several new books: (1) Records Management Basics; (2) A novel called White House Secrets; and (3) A romance book called Yes Dear You're Right.
